ESSEC Development Campaign: 2003 – 2007

The ESSEC Development Campaign is a collective challenge.

For our School, this means preparing our future to ensure that our educational excellence is recognized not only in France, but also outside of the country.

For corporations, this means a partnership with a major business school focused on research and development, human resources, and communications strategy.

A Campaign that is nearing successful completion!
A message from Pierre Tapie, ESSEC President and Sylvia Desazars de Montgailhard, Development Campaign Director

We are now reaching the end of the first phase of the School’s first ever Development Campaign, the official launch of which dates back to March 2003. Before taking a look back at the last four years, we would like to offer our warmest thanks to the many people who have dedicated themselves to a unique project: the creation of values within ESSEC Business School.

A series of events, debates and partnerships have enabled us to progress towards the target of raising 25 million euros for the development of the School itself and the ESSEC diploma. On 1 February 2007, 80% of this target had already been reached (20.1 million euros). Taking into account all pledges and projects in the pipeline, the overall result comes out at 106% (26.3 million euros). We can therefore consider this initial campaign to have been a great “victory” on paper. The challenge is now to complete all negotiations that remain in progress.

The contribution of the corporate world has been remarkable to witness. To this day, a total of 53 companies have signed partnership agreements with ESSEC as part of the Campaign. At Alumni level, no fewer than 900 former graduates have made generous donations to the Development Campaign, a gesture that confirms their attachment to the values of ESSEC Business School and their support for the projects currently in progress.

As you may well know, 2007 will be an especially rich and diverse year for the many events being organized to celebrate the School’s centenary. The Campaign and the Centenary provide the perfect opportunity to bring together the entire ESSEC community in celebration of the first 100 years of our School!
